Three rings are important in a womans life; her engagement ring; her wedding ring; and an anniversary ring. The latter can have stones added at every major milestone and this may mean a lot to you or your spouse. Sometimes, due to varied circumstances, there isnt an engagement ring and because anniversary rings are often given later in lifethey may offer a valid substitute as both. Often, they are very similar in the fact that they can have multiple stones. Queen Elizabeth II of England recently celebrated her diamond jubilee with much fanfare and tradition and regalia. Yachts and barges were decorated and sailed down the Thames and into London. Queen Victoria, after 60 years of her famous reign, pretty much caused the 75th diamond anniversary to be changed to the diamond jubilee and this newer traditional year has stuck. The tradition of giving anniversary gifts after a set amount of years of marriage may have started in Germany.
